Logic 9 is a very useful recording program that I’ve been obsessed with for the last couple of years. It comes with a lot of very cool plug-ins, including Space Design (Reverb), Delay Design, Amp Designer, and Pedalboard.

It has definitely helped me write music in a different way (rather than my guitar and voice), and I highly recommend it if you want to record some tunes.
