Bespoke wallpaper patterns by Simon Lee

Simon Lee specialises in amazing detailed bespoke wallpaper patterns. I am a big fan of his work and the characters that he produces. He makes a lot of Japanese video game and pop-culture references throughout his work, which makes you constantly refer back to his pieces to try and find other hidden details.

Late Bloomer: a brilliant folk album by Allie Moss

I have worked alongside Allie Moss for nearly a year and heard her new album, Late Bloomer, around the end of last year. The album opens with a familiar song, Corner, which was featured on the BT Infinity advert in the UK last year. Her beautiful voice, combined with her gentle acoustic songs, makes it an amazing album that any folk enthusiast can enjoy.

This fun series of shots by Melbourne photographer Jess Bialek was taken at the Riverland Bar using three dancers and a range of clothing from up-and-coming Australian designer, Jacqui Alexander, who is — along with Zac Midalia — behind the new organic cotton-based fashion label, Skinny Nelson. I really, really love this blog. Renee Ruin covers art, fashion, trends, with an emphasis on tattoo, fetish and grunge culture and she digs up the most amazing stuff. Ruin seems to like the same artists I do, including the seriously talented Brian M. Viveros.

I’m a big fan of Alex Turner’s side project, The Last Shadow Puppets. It’s just really good music. When I first got their record, I didn’t know if it was a re-issue or if it was brand new. It doesn’t sound like a jokey pastiche. It sounds sincere.

With waiting lists and pre-orders already taking place, there’s enough competition for this label without sharing it with the world. But what the heck. A little bit of fashion karma never goes astray. So listen up ladies. If you haven’t heard of Aussie label Maurie & Eve, you need to pay attention. Because their current collection, ‘End of the Line‘ is due to sell out as soon as it drops during October. Read more
