Unlike other horror movies, Indonesian horror movies are mostly ‘cheesy’. But one of the good horror ones is The Forbidden Door (Pintu Terlarang). This movie, released in 2009, is about a sculptor’s sick life who has to deal with both reality and his imagination. It’s really difficult to figure where the story goes, but it is a fantastic, violent, and disturbing experience that should not be missed.
