The Beer Spa: soak away your stresses in some amber ale

While I’m sure we’ve all considered jumping into a frothy pool of beer, apparently a Beer Spa is actually good for you, with a healthy boost of B-vitamins and minerals in the hops and the giant stein soak could just help your skin. Yup, we agree, trust the Czechs to invent this boozy relaxation!

TOTEM: Cirque du Soleil in San Diego

Cirque du Soleil is an event shrouded in Franco-Canadian mystery. If you haven’t been, you wonder if a synthesis of circus styles could really reduce people to babbling superlatives when they return. Or if they’ve been bought. This isn’t a normal show of strength, flexibility or prowess. It’s a full five degrees of difficulty more than anything you can expect. Think one-footed unicyclists flipping metal bowls from their spare leg onto the head of another smiling-peddling-balancing-bowl-catching rider. Add costumes, colour, light and music, and you’re only starting to get warm to the spectacle that is Cirque. Read on for more images and a special offer. Read more

Sacramento artist Skinner states that he is ‘influenced by 80’s pop culture, human struggle, myths, violence, dungeons and dragons, and the heavy metal gods’. This is very obvious in the many formats his work shows up in: whether it is a t-shirt, skate deck, toy or a mural. Read more

Minimalist cool meets urban grunge. This is Upper Metal Class, fine metal jewelry inspired by architecture, construction, math and science. Upper Metal Class already scored major points with their chic every-day friendly line, but there’s a major bonus to the brand: they are uber-environmentally conscious, constructing all goods from recycled metal in a wind-powered studio.
