Big Village records: Sydney underground hip hop
Big Village is a newly formed Sydney underground hip hop label. Containing MCs from Sketch the Rhyme, each member is from their own individual bands and contribute their expertise to the running of the organisation.
The label was founded by the artists it represents, all passionate about live music, quality beats and poignant, deft and intelligent lyrics. Cruise by the site, check out their new compilation full length and accompanying music clip, and grab the free download from Loose Change.

Sketch The Rhyme: spontaneous performance art
I’m happy to be involved with this audio/visual experimental, improvised performance troop consisting of four artists, three freestyling MCs, and a live four piece band. Inspired by Pictionary, Mr. Squiggle and animation, Sketch the Rhyme incorporates live drawing projected for the audience to see, rappers freestyling, and it’s all being inspired by the sketching. Battles: Ice Cream (Featuring Matias Aguayo)
I’m always drawn to originality and a contemporary beyond the new, especially in the fine art of painting, but also, just as importantly, in music. Pushing the boundaries of what is rock, Battles create a sound I think a group of five year olds would make if they had twenty years musical experience. Read more

The Internet Pinball Database is great for all things Pinball related. For all those enthusiasts still stuck in the 70s and early 90s that struggle to be torn away from the classic Bally/Williams machines (like me), the IPDB will help your gameplay on all those other machines now that Bally/Williams have shut up shop. With a huge listing of 5,347 games, the Internet Pinball Database is a comprehensive and easily searchable site for Pinball fanatics.

Why should the devil have all the good music? Finland’s Holy Blood is a great folk-black metal band by any standard, but its horn-raising tunes are all for the glory of the Good Lord rather than Satan or Odin. What would Jesus do? According to Holy Blood, he’d ride through the forests drinking mead and slaying non-believers.
Tarot cards, folk music, Charles Manson, ballet, freaks and geeks, and Patty Hearst can all take responsibility for being some of the inspiration’s behind the Australian fashion label, Lover. It’s all too clever and witty to ignore. Each collection adheres to a specific narrative and a central character. Read more
In 2008, graphic designer Becky Edgington and illustrator Sarah Beetson created two limited-edition packs of playing cards featuring images from Beetson’s exhibition, 50 Bucks: Bring On The Sluts. The images were selected from almost 500 small artworks created on moleskine paper, inspired by vintage pornography and a trip to Japan. Read more
