Photos of Brooklyn taken in 1974
I originally caught wind of these photos on amazing artist/designer Scott Hansen’s blog. These photos, taken by Danny Lyon in Brooklyn in 1974, have such a gritty, yet nostalgic feel to them. As a native New Yorker, any New York history pieces leave me curious. Great finds. [Musician Outasight is writing guest posts for Lost at E Minor]

for me, as some one who has never been anywhere near the usa, let alone brroklyn, these pictures are exactly what brooklyn looks like in my mind. i was a small kid in the 70s and one of my favourite shows was, of course, sesame st. these types of images of new york are what is burned into my consciousness via sesame st, and my lack of engagement with u.s. pop culture in the time since then means that nothing has ever changed in my imaginings of it!
