Amigurumi: the Japanese art of knitting stuffed animals
It seems that the more apps we can load into our iPhones, the more tech savvy we become, the more many of us are returning to the handmade. Blogs and websites such as Meet Me At Mikes abound for the new generation aficionados of knitting, felting, and crochet.
And the CWA ladies better move on up the church hall bench and make room! Amigurumi is the latest trend for crafty folk. These little animals have no practical use but are overwhelmingly cute.

Artist Matt W. Moore recently ran an exhibit in Cincinnati showing off his very dope vector like canvas paintings. What’s really ill to me is that the medium used here is spray paint, and you get to see him at work doing an entire wall in this style. Really clean, really fresh.
I owe my fascination with Susan Hiller to my girlfriend. We went to see the current retrospective of her work at the Tate Britain and PSI GIRLS blew my mind. It’s an incredible example of an artist’s awareness of their audience’s role within their own art. I don’t think this aesthetic is applied to music often enough. She perfectly subverts ‘pop culture’ by using video art as the medium.
