Awareness Raps: Amber Tamblyn tricks Tyrese Gibson
When I read this article about Amber Tamblyn tricking Tyrese via email into thinking she was Amber Rose, I had no idea who either Amber was. Now I know.

Drawings of animals by Maria Elina
It’s funny that as alienated as we are from animals in this modern world, people still feel compelled to draw them as if it were one of our core instincts. Argentine artist Maria Elina does excellent drawings of anthropomorphized animals. Excellent, I say. Trust me, I look at the internet all day. Read more

Surreal sculptures by Ben Wheele
Honestly, writing about art (and music, for that matter) is kind of an awful task because good art speaks for itself. Such is the case with Ben Wheele’s surreal sculptures and videos. I use the word ‘surreal’ to describe 90% of the art I like not because I’m a lazy writer, but because there’s really not much more to say, and I like surreal and grotesque shit. Read more

I met Caroline Thaw at Brooklyn’s Third Ward in one of the courses I taught. The first time I saw samples of her work, I was happily overwhelmed by her diversity of styles, her cute yet twisted characters, the radiant and infinite beauty in every piece she made, her delicate line, and her strong sense of style and scenographic space. Part of her work’s charm comes from her experience in theater design designing sets and custumes for productions that traveled around the world (she is from England, originally), and her tremendous love for kids.
The AirPiano is an innovative musical interface which allows the playing and controlling of software instruments simply by moving your hands in the air. There’s no shortage of bands channeling the surf rock and psych of the 1960s, but the Super Vacations’ sloppy vocals, drunken guitar riffs, and blown out production give them a knowing swagger that has as much in common with Beat Happening and Thee Headcoats as with the Pyramids. They seem to take pride in how bad they are live, but their debut record shows a lot of potential.

Now, I know it’s not hard to simply turn your wrist to tell the time, but the Diesel DZ9044 is a stylish watch that lets the user become that little bit more lazy. What’s more, if the watch is a gift, the clean face can be engraved to add that personal touch. Yes, wink, wink, indeed. Read more
Minimalist cool meets urban grunge. This is Upper Metal Class, fine metal jewelry inspired by architecture, construction, math and science. Upper Metal Class already scored major points with their chic every-day friendly line, but there’s a major bonus to the brand: they are uber-environmentally conscious, constructing all goods from recycled metal in a wind-powered studio. Check out these hot and enviro-pleasing pieces in the Lost At E Minor store
