Swoon’s Thalassa at New Orleans Museum of Art
I got to New Orleans just in time to see NYC street artist Swoon, aka Caledonia Dance Curry, present her new installation, Thalassa, in the lobby of the New Orleans Museum of Art.
The piece is gorgeous, impressively huge, and intricate, commenting on the turbulent relationship the region has had with water in the aftermath of Katrina, the BP oil spill, and the recent flooding of the Mississippi River.
