Laura Newbern’s Love and the Eye poetry book

I was awaiting this book of poetry since reading her poems in The Atlantic Monthly and TriQuarterly years ago. It did not disappoint. A heavy literary crush.

Zachary Cale’s awesome third album: Noise of Welcome

A broken snare drum rolling gently over a scratchy acoustic guitar; a deep lyrical catharsis smothering a melody which is predictable but endearing. Your Rocky Spine by Great Lake Swimmers is a magical song; all wrapped up in three and half minutes of lustful introspection.

Adidas’ new Star Wars kicks are super-stars. The Storm Trooper helmets on shoe tongues are my favorite. I want Chubaka to wear them.
