Cakey Perry: a new high tea experience in London
Cakey Perry is a unique high tea experience inspired by the Katy Perry California Gurls video and the work of it’s creative director, Will Cotton. Every item on the menu will relate to California Gurls and is destined to blow you away with both looks and taste. It opens in London on July 29. Chocolate dipped gummi bears, strawberries stuffed with cupcakes and candy floss adorned sweet treats are all to be expected. Nom, nom, nom.

A UK organization, Racing for Change, are on a mission to bring jockeys’ attire into the 21st century. Working with students at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, they have unwritten 250 years of tradition and gone back to the drawing board with silks featuring everything from bacon, bird droppings and even fruit machine symbols. What are the horses going to make of it all? Well, we can find out as the winning set of silks will be raced at Ascot, the UK’s premier racecourse, on July 9.

Grace is part of a new series of books by author Dale Cusack. The story chronicles the lives of Grace and her feline companion Boot in their struggle to fight the evil Drawl and the cover illustration was done by Auckland-based artist, and Lost At E Minor contributor, Dennis Juan Ma. We asked him about what shaped the colour choices for the piece: ‘I wanted to create a mystery world within the reality. I wanted the colour to encourage readers to stimulate their imagination. I illustrated the covers with a classical Japanese wood block look to show the oriental flavour of the cat’s world. And it just happens that I’m a wood block art fan’. Read more
