A UK organization, Racing for Change, are on a mission to bring jockeys’ attire into the 21st century. Working with students at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, they have unwritten 250 years of tradition and gone back to the drawing board with silks featuring everything from bacon, bird droppings and even fruit machine symbols. What are the horses going to make of it all? Well, we can find out as the winning set of silks will be raced at Ascot, the UK’s premier racecourse, on July 9.
