New York car space being sold for 1 million dollars
Only in New York? We think so, though those in Tokyo may disagree. According to that reputable news source, the UK’s Daily Mail, a ‘developer of a luxury condo building in New York City’s Greenwich Village has listed a parking spot for $1 million’. That’s right. And the spot only holds one car, measuring in at an underwhelming 12 feet by 23 feet. So is it even semi-reasonable to ask this much? The New York Post thinks not. They’ve determined that ‘driver would have to rack up a $115 illegal parking ticket every day for 24 years before reaching the cost of this luxury garage’. Ah, the joys of deep pockets.

We asked New York-based photographer Baldomero Fernandez about his Cuba series and whether there was a particular mood that he was looking to capture: ‘Usually I tend to photograph quiet scenes that are empty and have a feeling of solitude. The surreal part that comes through is usually more because of anachronisms, or maybe something is just out of place. It’s not straightforward surrealism. I’m enjoying reading the insight and witticisms of the Indie Breakfast Club blog, which casts a wide net over entrepreneurship and what it means to be one and still have a conscience.
Music isn’t necessarily a serious venture. It’s almost funny when you find some you know will grate to dust the stiff upper lipped critics of the world. Every now and then I like the type of sound that hops around the edge of your ears without working its way into your brain and messing up the seratonin levels. And Californian 16-piece tropical-ska-pop group, Still Flyin’, do just that for me. It’s a good laugh, quite catchy, and an awesome live experience so I’m told: especially with the sun out, a can of cider in your hand and a bunch of grinning faces skanking around you.
