Lunar Cubit is an inspired proposal for a solar power installation on the site of the world’s first zero-carbon community, Masdar City, near Abu Dhabi. Lunar Cubit arranges eight pyramids in a ring, surrounding one larger central pyramid.

Constructed from Amorphous Silicon, the electricity generated by the solar-panel faces during the day would provide power to Masdar via cables buried beneath the surface of the desert. At night, the pyramids are designed to use low-energy lighting to create a spectacular feature representing the phases of the moon.
