Well they are not Portuguese at all. original they are called “Berliner” and they are quite german :D (wooooo – who would have suggest that) But here in Berlin they are actually called “Pfannkuchen” (Pancakes) because if you would ask a Berliner: “may i have a Berliner” it would give an awkward situation. ;)
