The Pedestrian Project
Yvette Helin created the Pedestrian Project in 1990 with several performers costumed to look like the pedestrian graphic symbols from road signage. The stark black silhouettes photographed in different environments is a clever commentary on people and their environments as public art.

A NYC costumer friend of Harper’s, YVETTE HELIN, has created jaw-dropping costumed performances with male/female icons they appear annually in NY’s 14th Street “AiOP” October events. (Art in Odd Places)
Something so stunning, funny, stark, surreal.
