The Fighter: starring Mark Wahlberg
by Remember that feeling you got when you first watched Karate Kid? The feeling where anything is possible and no obstacle is too big to be waxed on and then waxed off. That’s the same feeling you get when you watch The Fighter.
I must admit, I’ve got a slight crush on Mark Wahlberg, so I wasn’t too devastated when Black Swan was booked out and I went to see The Fighter instead. I thought, even if this is terrible, it’ll be a good perve-fest on Marky Mark minus the Funky Bunch. A true story based on Micky Ward back in the mid 80s, this is one story about a boxer that doesn’t need a sequel and doesn’t involve Eye of the Tiger.
