I recently mentioned C. Spencer Yeh, and coincidentally, he came through Baltimore a few days later. He played two separate shows, and I only got to see the second one at The Bank.
It was one of the more inspirational shows I’ve seen lately – Yeh played two pieces, the first involved using two bows on his violin to create various meandering textures, and the second piece involved Yeh basically beatboxing, slathering his face all over the mic in an almost obscene way to create amazing polyrhythms, grunts, and percussive sounds.
