Live crab vending machine in China
Wild and crazy is an understatement when it comes to what you’re about to see. In America, we have vending machines that include snacks and coffee. In China, they have vending machines that include live crabs and bananas.

Although these things look very cool, they could not possibly be comfortable. The artist behind them, John Kelly, wanted the clogs to resemble shoes for the Nike78 exhibition.

A little make-up is nice, but some people go way too far. Have you ever wanted to look like your favorite anime character? All the make-up artist had to do was literally close her eyes and her dream came true. This girl looks like one of the characters from Sailor Moon.

Uhm, this is in China. It can be seen clearly that they are introducing chinese currency (with Mao´s face), and the letters everywhere are Chinese caligraphy. Check your facts. Cheers!

Ease up. The video is Japanese, but it’s filmed in Shanghai. The host is Japanese, and all the subtitles and text in the video are Japanese. Honest mistake.

How horribly cruel. I know that they would have ended up as dinner anyway, but you’d at least think that they’d be frozen. They must be going mental being all cooped up, unable to move – probably all chittering their unhappiness to each other.

For 5 out of the 6 comments posted to be discussing the origin of the report, it’s obvious how desensitized we have become. Just because they are crabs locked into individual caskets waiting to die we seem to overlook that these are living creatures. If they were miniature poodles maybe there would be more of a reaction. Disappointed and disgusted in the human race.

The beguiling crudeness of Daniel Jensen’s work adds to its expressiveness — like the work of a psychotically precocious child, Jensen’s drawings, paintings, and sculptures seem slapped together in a mad frenzy, yet manage to display a deft sense of movement, depth, and demented emotion. Read more
It’s been suggested that the lure that ultimately roped John Lennon into Yoko Ono’s spell was the word ‘Yes’ written in tiny writing on the roof of her gallery exhibit. ‘Yes!’ It’s such a positive word, so packed with meaning, as this notice on a pole in an arty block in Brooklyn attests.

Interior design website, Apartment Therapy, just posted some amazing pictures of ’70s rock stars in their parents’ homes. My favorite is of David Crosby and his dad [below]. The two look so completely opposite of each other that it’s hard to believe that it’s Crosby’s real dad. They also look like they’re barely concealing the contempt they have for each other. Crosby’s father was an Academy-Award-winning cinematographer who shot Tabu and High Noon, amongst other well-known films. Read more
Whitest Boy Alive follow their own rules: no overdubs, no FX, and the music is always recorded live in one take. Fronted by Erlend Øye (of Kings Of Convenience notoriety), the Berlin collective produce a distinctive blend of minimalist melodies and pillowy grooves. And on the eleven tracks that constitute their new album, Rules, they convey one polite directive: please, move your body. We have their latest single, Island [listen below], available for free download in the Music Download section of the Lost At E Minor site [pssst, it's in the third column], along with new releases by Vic Chestnutt, Winter Gloves, and Cut Off Your Hands.

They sell these crabs in China, not in Japan. Only this banana vending machines can be found here in Japan (trust me, I understand what they’re talking^^)
