Google Street Views: capturing life for real

Jon Rafman’s much talked about Google Street View’s project brings together accidental moments, beautifully captured at random by the unknowing Google street cars as they document our big, old world house by house, bared bum by bared bum. The photos capture rare snippets of everyday life in an eye opening, beautiful, sometimes disturbing, often hilarious way.

Retrograd: a vintage design store in Copenhagen

In a town where even your local bank branch hangs designer lights, and the high street has everything a product nerd could hope for, it’s hard to imagine you might still find some hidden gems. Fortunately, in Copenhagen, this is not the case. Read more

Awesome moving gifs by Davidope

Budapest-based creative genius Davidope has created this collection of hypnotic gifs to get us walking like chickens. I’m sure of it. If not that, then maybe we’re all going to quit smoking and fall asleep at the click of his fingers. Whatever the reason, these gifs will certainly send you into a trance. By giving life and movement to these modular graphics, he somehow gives them a sense of purpose and personality. Read more

Tea Pot Cafe in Fort Kochi, India

For anyone traveling to India, the state of Kerala is a must. And for anyone traveling to Kerala, The Tea Pot Cafe in Fort Kochi is an absolute must. Relaxed and elegantly worn goes with the territory in these parts, but this particular cafe has all the local tastes and flavours, with the quirkiness and natural cool you might find people trying to replicate in other parts of the world. A homage to the teapot, this cafe offers food and hot and cold beverages in an interior littered with vintage teapots, trinkets and relics from the old tea trade days of the Malabar coast.

Ynki and her magical and intricate world of imagination is the creation of Berlin-based artist, Zoe Keogh, whose pastels and brightly coloured love injected into her artworks is such a joy. She draws, scratches, prints, inks, and presses, creating delicate delights, which were on display as part of her first solo show at Keith and Lotti in Perth, Australia, earlier this year. Keogh has also exhibited in London, New York and Paris and is working on an intriguing seven sins concept.

First we had eagles throwing goats off of cliffs, now we have this beautiful flower surreptitiously giving us the finger. I’m all for praising Mother Nature and all that, but let’s face it, sometimes nature can be a bitch.

Man, I remember shaking my tail to Come on Eileen many moons ago — when rat-tails were a right of passage and Molly Ringwald held both the lock and the key to my tiny pitter pattering heart. Back then it was all ice-skating and fairy floss; skateboards and trading cards. It was bags of chips by the rusty school fence and sunburnt faces on crackling summer days. Read more
