Eric Slager’s Minimalist Muppets
|Who didn’t grow up with Kermit the frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo the Great and buddies? Inspired by a trip to the Jim Henson’s Fantastic World exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry, and the ever-expanding buzz around the new Jason Segel-helmed Muppet Movie, 21 year-old graphic designer Eric Slager created a series of minimal Muppets portraits that are truly cute.

Daniel Franke has created an amazing new kind of art. He calls it a sound sculpture. It is based on the recorded motion data of a dancer shot with three depth cameras, a complex procedure that resulted in a beautifully moving digital body, consisting of 22,000 points. In my teenage years, I was a fanatical collector of Archie Comics, living my life vicariously through the mischevious misadventures of Archie, Betty, Veronica and the gang.
