The Hood Internet mix-up Lazerbeak’s new album

Chicago mash-up kings The Hood Internet have just made a mix using six tracks from Lazerbeak’s new album Legend Recognize Legend (Doomtree Records). The duo fused Beak’s music with the vocal stylings of 8Ball, Devius, Drake, Fiq, Freeway, T.I., Shad, Mos Def, Thomas Mars of Phoenix, and Usher.

If I had a third thumb, I’d give Kumi Yamashita three thumbs up. The Japanese artist creates stunning visual effects with lighting and simple forms, like letters of the alphabet, children’s blocks, and shoeprints. Yamashita finds the rare balance between beauty and brains.

Melbourne-based artist Thomas Pavitte uses basic techniques to create complex artworks. For his take on Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, he carefully arranged and numbered 6,239 dots and then spent the next nine hours connecting them. The result is not only the (unofficial) world record for the most complex dot-to-dot drawing, but also happens to be a seriously cool piece of art. Read more
