Said to be the most popular stationary brand in France, everything made by Rhodia is a thing of beauty to me. I’m not sure if it’s the soft texture of their journal covers under my fingers, or just the well thought-out design of their meeting books. It might even be the distinctive orange used for all their products, which has been around since the 1920s as the standard hue for cardstock and has been kept to this day.

But even more impressive than their beautiful products is the way the environment comes first in their business. Rhodia only use sustainable forests, and the water used to power their mill in France goes back to the river cleaner than it left, allowing the people that live close by to fish, boat and swim downstream of the mill. Rhodia? Stationary, and a company to love.
