Breast Cancer Survivors vs Super Models
What’s better than an event dedicated to preserving t*ts? A Celebrity Ping Pong Tournament benefiting the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. Yes, that last name may sound familiar. Carol is the mother of Alec, who will be playing for his life (or really, the lives of others) in an epic ping pong battle royale against the models of the Independent Model Agency.
There’s music, food, booze, celebs and survivors playing ping pong against models and maybe even a Susan Sarandon sighting … she’s the owner of the hottest night life spot to hit New York City, SPiN New York, a ping pong club for serious enthusiasts and drunken, philanthropic party-goers alike. October 25 from 9-11pm at SPiN Club,. $20 suggested donation at the door.

Jess, what a stupid thing to say. You might as well say that a woman is just a life support system for her breasts. Breast cancer attacks women. Breast cancer kills women. I suppose some people are more interested in the breasts than the women. Maybe that’s you? If someone I care about is sick, I want that person to survive, not just part of them.
The biggest problem with “Breast Cancer Awareness” is the unfortunate focus the term places on the body part rather than the person. I don’t know much about feminism, but it seems like a movement dedicated to stopping a disease mostly affecting women should approach the effort with the whole woman in mind. Yet the first word in all this is always breast.
