Mia Mala McDonald spends her spare time tap dancing, driving to the country, treasure hunting and playing with her cats. This series was created for the exhibition THREAD: ‘My idea was to shoot a series of portraits that explore the ways in which individuals choose to represent themselves. For each portrait, we invited the subject to offer their own physical or emotional response to the clothing’.

Amsterdam-based photographers Blommers and Niels Schumm both studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and started working together in 1998.
