Twin Shadow
It could be the hair and the tight jeans. It could be the incredibly beautiful voice that is able to croon in such a way it inspires teenage-like lust (New York Magazine describes Twin Shadow’s George Lewis, Jr. as ‘a Brooklynite with crazy retro hair, a Morrissey voice, and songs that make you feel funny inside’). It could be the unabashedly poppy beats, the entirely solid package of music that each note feels just like, well, he gets it. Sigh. It could be love.

Take ‘em boring books off the bookshelf! Artist Miler Lagos’s book igloo is gravity defying. Just don’t pull out the wrong book. The Colombian artist arranged the books in a neat dome to explore the dynamics between nature, culture, and material possessions. The structure uses nothing more than carefully aligned books.
New York-based artist Anna Sheffield recently designed a few edgy pieces for the haute-costume jewelry line, Bing Bang. I’m loving the silver wolf studs. Crazy!

Down with OCD? Well, well so are we! And, so is this guy, who was nice enough to share some found photos and post them on his Tumblr page.
There’s some nice, doom-tinged psych rock coming out of Holtzclaw, Virginia in the form of Pontiak, a lumbering, feverish, blues-heavy trio that sounds like a hungover morning after a drunken party around a bonfire in the woods.
