I would be hanging out with my friends–Mat and Kim.
Mat got me into American football, a tiny bit.
Mostly, I have enjoyed international football (soccer).
And, clothes are sadly necessary.

Watching the Gophers from the Student Section, emerged in a Sea of Gold. SKI-U-MAH!

Singing is definitely one of the best past times for me. When I’m in a small venue with only my closest friends and a guitar, the last thing I need is to look like I’ve spent the last 5 hrs getting dressed. The more comfortable my clothing the better my performance, as simple as that.

Thanks for the opportunity to get my hands on some of ZANEROBI’s stuff!!!
Ciao

Sitting in a living room at the latter end of the season, with a fire crackling and the game on TV is not quite the centerpiece of the evening’s entertainment. The room is full of friends enjoying one another’s conversation, while a guitar is being passed around the room as some attempt to pick out a song over the Broncos game. Modern spins on classic gameday dishes are served, and everyone is wearing Zanerobe (of course).

On sunday, before I watch the game, it is very important that I look my best.
People say that sundays are a day of rest, but as I see it I look at my sundays as a day of looking damn good.
So as im looking good, and after I get back from church, usually what I do is spend the day with either my family and friends.
Thats the perfect thing to do on a sunday.
Plus, I could totally picture myself with something delicious on from ZANEROBE.

Game Day Sunday, I’d be wicked hung over from the previous night of debauchery. I’d get together with my friends early, around noon, for the greasiest hang over breakfast in town. We’d go over the shitshow that happened last night and bust laughs. After breakfast we’d squint our eyes in the sunlight and head to the park down by the river. Everything goes down here: some hair of the dog, frisbee, skateboarding, chill beats and general homie and homette hang sesh. After a few hours of chillin we’d crawl to my house with my massive backyard for a BBQ. We’d watch the game, jam with each other, and hope to god that Monday will never happen again.

Sunday is Game Day, no matter where I am. It’s chance to cheer with friends at the exploits of the Sydney Swans; catch a local derby between Warringah & Manly; or just kick back, grab a tingly fruity drink and enjoy the lifestyle afforded by Uni students!

Wake up at any time after 11am and figure out who decided to crash at mine the previous night. Don a pair of footy shorts, thongs and a singlet and stroll down to the local burger store with anyone who is keen for a portugese chicki burger to rid the sins and clense the body of saturday night. Spend the rest of the day beer in hand and looking at the beach. Australia – I love you.

It’s simple, being in college I would wake up hungover from the night before and begin by making myself a bloody mary. After choking down the tomatoes I call up the sorority girls and convince them that Sunday game day is better than sleeping in. When people arrive at my place we all crack some beers, reminisce about last nights adventures and flip on the surround sound to the game.
Finally, I would tell them all that they need to read up on lostateminor so I can get my Zanerobe package. Works every time.

Big comfy floor pillows spread out around the coffee table. Blue Sky soda pop, vodka, Oreos, Cheetos, and a dictionary. Scrabble tiles freshly shaken in a velvet pouch. I get the X and EALTS too–and I go first. Then, afterwards, hide-and-seek.

Game day would have my lovely Killamazoo Derby Darlins and I sharing some delicious food before warming up for the roller derby. Ramona D, Flowers, Delilah Danger, and Yoga Nagettit and i would all be dresssed in our stylin’ ZANEROBE clothing, and then change into our derby uniforms and gear at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Cheers!

Sunday game day really starts Saturday morning for me. I’ve already cleaned the house, set the menu, and invited the friends over. Throughout Saturday morning friends trickle in laden with beer, chips, (and sometimes diaper bags) and the cheerful sound of bottles clinking accompanies my stint at the grill cooking the burgers and dogs (veggie and traditional). Sometime in the middle of all of this, cheers and pre-game band rev ups from Michigan stadium start wafting across my yard signaling that we better get a move on. En masse, about 20 of us walk to the Michigan football game while a few mums, dads, and babes stay home and enjoy the game on my flat screen. After killing our opponents we march back to the cheerful tune of hail to the victors from the post-game show then spend the rest of the evening watching the other games around the country, catching up on scores or talking fantasy football while we soak out the kinks in the giant outdoor hot tub. Sometimes, if we’re lucky, there might be an ice hockey game to go to that night. The next morning everyone’s back at my house for waffles and eggs before the (mostly) men head into Detroit to tailgate before watching the professionals rock the house. Meanwhile the (mostly) ladies stay back and watch iceskating or gymnastics or something on satellite while baking cookies (our family loves us some cookies!) and catching up with the extended fam. Throw in some apple cider, cinnamon donuts, and crisp fall air, and I’ve just had the perfect game day weekend.
Justin Friday 17 September 2010
Big breakie and coffee in the AM, the calm before the storm. Walk down to Frat-row and join the pre-game sessions of beer-pong and flip-cup to get into the ‘spirit’. Head into the stadium on a crisp autumn morning and cheer my lungs out in the student section as our fearless team romps to victory. Storm the goalposts with the rest of the crazies and follow the marching band as it leads us through town. Disappear with the cheer leading team as the night descends into further madness….

Me and my mate Storky would probably want to catch up with Kim from above and hang out with her and her three sisters. We would be lookin sharp and doing our best to impress, buying drinks and boutique lunches, competing for their attention and probably coming off as either suave and sophisticated or as slightly drunk and potentially dangerous gibbons. Either way, they would be so impressed with our sharp threads that they’d be willing to put up with our immature shit as they tried to decide who was the better-looking and more successful of me and Storky (it would be me, of course). Now that’s game on Sunday style.
By the way, my name is Zane so you’re kind of getting free endorsement from me anyway…. I just need a robe…..

Each week on the day of the Lord,
Revelry and tomfoolery roar,
Over field, over friend,
Over beer and The Jets,
As long we ignore the score.

Booze, nachos, and superfans talking shit, making bets, and yelling at a big screen.

Catching up with my younger siblings and taking them to the movies. then go and have a big slice of chocolate mudcake togather. Gameday is a day that has to remind me of being a kid again.
Ellie Downing Sunday 19 September 2010
Game-day Sunday would be video-game-day Sunday playing Resident Evil 5 co-op with my house mate Cat, getting my jailbreaker all up in those zombie grills. Changing out of pyjamas is unnecessary. Pepsi max would be abounds. Snackables would prevail over actual meals. It is also a lazy-day Sunday.
Chad O'Neill Sunday 19 September 2010
Id treat myself to a windsurfing session with my mates. Mozy around on the inflatable powerboat teaching kids how to sail and windsurf. Close up shop with a couple of beers. Go home play with some paint trying to resist the urge to paint my girlfriends dog
Rounding the day off with a a steak and some drunken antics when the sun sets
Day complete

Obviously it involves my team winning. But even with a win I still love to see a close match. A game coming down to the final few minutes involving your team is excruciating painful but also majestic at the same time.
The environment of the location is beer, mates, and a bbq. Having a chat while the match is on, and playing games based on the match makes it all so much a social affair.
Straight after the match it is on to the beach to continue the party, and with no work the next day it is awesome!!

Game day Sunday involves a big breakfast, kick-to-kick with mates in the park and then we hop on our bikes and cycle down to the grounds around lunch time. Watch the end of the 2nds and then sit down on the grass hill by the fence with a bottle of cheap chardonnay and cheer the boys home! After the game, we jump on to the field, re-living and re-imagining how the match should have ended. We all nail that goal from the 50…

OK… Getting in to the Lord Nelson in Sydney early enough to claim the black leather banana sofa in front of the big screen with the crew. We enjoy lunch, pre game beers and banter for 3hours before the pub starts filling up behind us.
As the game starts, i turn around to see the once empty pub is now standing room only, offering “stadium like sound” to our in-pub, big-screen experience …. and Australia win the 2nd Lions’ game and turn the momentum of the tour !! Hooorah !!

sunday morning i wake up with some light calisthenics and a couple of raw eggs to start my day off right. i attend the local church of course and head home where my fish swimmy is patiently awaiting my arrival. i coach him in a light workout and we have a wrestling match with ruth the cabbage patch baby. she usually wins since she hasn’t been washed in 20 years and no one wants to touch her. after the match we all are a little tired so we settle on the the couch and watch an episode of wonder years. the one where paul attends basketball try-outs and kevin doesn’t think he should but he makes the team anyway. then the game comes on. about this time swimmy usually falls asleep but is awoken by either my hysterical sobs or screams of joy. we then put on our matching adidas track suits with our names embroidered on the back and take a victory lap or go throw rocks into the lake. the rest of the day varies.
we would really like to sport some new threads because our track suits are a little worn. swimmys is decaying quickly seeing as how his is underwater all the time.
thanks

Sundays are my favorite days because they involve church in the morning, under water basket weaving in the afternoons, and hiking a couple mountains before the days end. The big game is huge. I love you guys. Thanks for picking me. I’m going to add my comment now. K, bye.

Some great stuff here. We’ve picked a winner at random – the winner is Chad O’Neill, and we’ve emailed Chad to arrange delivery of the prize pack.
Thanks for your entries, and keep an eye out for more ZANEROBE giveaways!

Being a Texan with limited interest and knowledge of football, I have watched many games with my friends who ARE the typical Texan and though I love the spirit of game day, the majority of my comments on the actual game make no sense and are usually followed with inquisitive looks or laughs at my expense.
With this being said, my ideal game day would have to be one where everything I said about the game would actually make sense and be well received by my peers.

Waking up – alive.
Food to eat, friends to see, music to hear.
My perfect Game Day Sunday.
My perfect Game Day Any Day really!

Game Day, Sunday starts with a big cook-up brekky, followed by a read of the paper and then don your sunnies and relaxed Sunday outfit and wash it all down with some afternoon beers and cider in the sun. Head to the house of your friend with the biggest TV and repeat (swapping the paper this time for some music and a hit of ping pong in the breaks)! Yeah!
