Jaded gets its title from the idea that patrons frequenting Chi Chiz Bar (the only black gay bar in New York City), people living in the tri-state area, and inter-generational blacks and latinos of different socio-economic backgrounds, have seen or done it all. By showing photographs of figures in their most trying circumstances, Cacy Forgenie hopes to traverse the venue as a site of expectation, disillusionment and eroticism, and further transform it into a space of empathy, solidarity and recognition.
