Mcbess
Mcbess, aka Matthieu Bessudo, is a very talented French illustrator living in London who has a pretty strong character-driven style which produces very eye-catching compositions. His black and white universe is filled with exaggerated characters and unique retro expressions: a mix of ‘old school’ cartoon, rock’n’roll, retro and modern elements. He is able to fuse all of that to deliver wonderful little masterpieces.

Brilliant one line drawing series by Eemz
Eemz is an illustrator and mixed-media artist from Cairo. She has recently come up with a one line drawing series that I find quite adorable. Lots of her motifs look like minimalist doodling interpretations of characters from the Arabian Nights or the Pharaonic period. I would really love to see these turned into t shirt motifs or printed on postcards, so I can send them around to my friends. Read more

Unnamed sound sculpture by Daniel Franke
Daniel Franke has created an amazing new kind of art. He calls it a sound sculpture. It is based on the recorded motion data of a dancer shot with three depth cameras, a complex procedure that resulted in a beautifully moving digital body, consisting of 22,000 points. The closer we look, the more abstract the sculpture becomes. Read more

People tend to think we illustrators carry around our sketchbooks everywhere. A confession: I don’t. That is one of the reason why I love looking at other illustrator’s sketchbooks. Virginia-based Tin Salamunic’s sketchbook tells me a bit about an everyday life in Richmond. And his obsession for cars. Read more

Driven by a wide spectrum of influences, the music of Brass Bed moves easily through an eclectic mix of genres: from alt-country ballads and progressive rock hooks, to sticky-sweet, heart-felt lyrics, and dissonant experimental freak-outs. As some wise folk have noted, it’s kinda like a cross between The Beach Boys and The Flaming Lips. Now, how could that be a bad thing? We have two of their songs — Olivia [listen below] and Polar Bird — available for free download in the Music Download section in the third column of Lost At E Minor.
