The bluntness of the social messages in Buenos Aires-based artist Guillermo Jones’ digital art lends his work an endearing outsider-y quality, although he has had a formal art education. Jones employs commercial graphic styles to articulate his decidedly anti-corporate, anti-war, environmentalist message.

Stewy does a range of stencils of indigenous British animals and the odd musical characters in and around a specific area of North London. I’ve seen his work develop from black and white to multiple colour and small to large scale. It started with cats and dogs, and he recently did a full-scale horse. Mongol is an effort to correct this balance, and the eastern influence is evident in much more than just the storyline. In.cube8r supports all things craft and handmade in Melbourne, running like a long-term market, with the gallery divided into different areas that the artists lease for a tiny cost. I had the pleasure of seeing Duran Duran play a few weeks back in the balmy drizzle of New York’s Central Park. I always thought the guys had more cheek than they were ever given credit for. But don’t be fooled! For a band so rooted in the immediacy of disposable pop, they wrote some timeless songs, none more so than The Chauffeur.

These delicate sterling silver earrings have two hand hammered layers of silver with a soft white finish. In the center of each earring is a small peach moonstone. These earrings hang flatteringly close to the face on small sterling silver ear wires. Each earring measures 0.75 inches in diameter.

Pitched as ‘Ulterior Motives in Contemporary Art’, Disorder Disorder is running until November 14 at Penrith Regional Gallery.
