It might seem that lately I’m in need of a swear jar, but what the hell! Music video director, Huse Monfaradi, and photographer, Dan Wilton, recently collaborated to capture sixty of their friends and acquaintances in the process of swearing: ‘The idea was really simple: to capture the emotive, cathartic outburst of energy from swearing to camera’, says Monfaradi. Not surprisingly, the shoot often ended up as a mass primal therapy session. Don’t you think there is something weirdly liberating about letting a loud f-bomb rip?

In 1949, renowned LIFE photographer Gjon Mili visited Pablo Picasso in the South of France. Using a small flashlight in a dark room, Picasso created wildly free and fluid drawings while Mili snapped away. The resulting images are, erm, electric. Read more

I’m such a sucker for colored pencil these days and I’m really digging the way UK illustrator Peter James Field goes at it. The pencil brings a soft, folkiness to what might otherwise be pretty straightforward renderings.
Sparks’ album Kimono My House is a demented mix of hard rock, pop, glam, new wave, and baroque pop. Why this record never caught on in the States I’ll never know. The songs will get stuck in your head and prevent you from sleeping. Oh yeah, and the keyboard player has a nice mustache too, as evidenced by this track above — This Town Ain’t Big Enough.
