Mos Def versus Mario Troise: Mathematics
Even though it’s all just text, I think this video is real dope. This is an animation created by Mario Troise for the song Mathematics by Mos Def, which was released in 1999. There are 361 animated words and tons of layers, but the visual is minimal.

Animated video for Chad VanGaalen’s Peace on the Rise
I’m not sure what I like more: Chad VanGaalen’s dreamy campfire rock tune or it’s alluring animated video clip. Or maybe I’m just swept away by both since the psychedelic video perfectly fits the song. It’s a warping, Fantastic Planet’esque creation, abounding with blue-skinned aliens and fanciful, intergalactic landscapes. The man is a genius and even illustrated this video, as well as the album artwork.
OK Go and Pilobolus: All Is Not Lost (Official Video)
Yeeha! Another groundbreaking video from the best in the biz. For this latest effort, OK GO worked with director Trish Sie (who is the sister of lead singer Damian Kulash), the dance troupe Pilobolus, and the guys at Google to ‘create the latest HTML5 Chrome Experiment and musical experience. The project showcases the latest in modern browser technology, using 12 separate windows to create a kaleidoscopic dance that is partially choreographed by the viewer’. Enjoy!
Teams vs. Star Slinger: Close To Me
This video off the Mexican Summer label was directed by Jordan Kim, who also did the very clever Daedelus video for the single, Fair Weather Friends. It comes loaded with a tasty ending! In more ways than one.

Dysfunctional Families stickers
If you’re a driver or passenger, it’s getting that way that probably one in ten cars you pass have a ‘my family tribe’ (or whatever they’re called) sticker plastered on the driver’s rear windscreen. Seeing them daily now, I’m beginning to wonder why is it that these are becoming so popular and a social phenomena. A lot of opinions are out there on whether they’re liked or disliked, but opinion’s are one thing. I prefer to show some action. Hence, I decided to design my own range of Dysfunctional Families stickers. Read more

Insekta: design products inspired by the shapes of insects
Insekta is a collection designed by italian studio Kreativehouse. The moodboard is inspired by the shapes of insects and their world of color. The drawings, taken from original illustrations by Cristian Grossi, were applied to different supports to create a collection of unique products: a limited edition set of illustrated notebooks in recovered paper, a set of pins and tees. Numbers of Love t shirt design by Shura Baggio
A new way to show love. Or a graphic design project, where the numbers are ‘alive’ and start playing with each other. Whatever. Rotate, invert it, intersect to create graphic symbols that ‘tell’ the love. Since the first meeting, the first passion, the love story develops. Project design by Shura Baggio.

The Brick Testament is an illustrated version of the King James Bible done with Legos. Though the site is meant to be satirical, it’s a pretty good summary of the Good Book.
Last Fall, I moved to a flat with a balcony and this Spring I really fell in love with ‘gardening‘. Things taste better and look better when you grow your own! 50 years from now, when we’ve ruined nature, sucked all nutrients from the soil, and the cities look like a Mad Max movie, we are bound to use our windows as replacements for gardens, fields and forests.
Oh boy, this is fun. Omaha’s Tilly and the Wall are kitsch-cool-camp-vauderville meets pop-folk-flamenco, with a tap dancer for a drummer and some serious, serious charisma for a calling card.
One of my favourite venues in New York is Brooklyn’s Union Hall, right around the corner from Tamari, a super sushi joint. Upstairs they have two massive fireplaces burning and a bocce ball court. Yup, bocce. Downstairs you feel like you’ve walked into the museum of natural history where you can see live bands on a stage reminiscent of grandma’s living room.
One of my favourite curated art blogs is Booooooom! The site is based in my backyard of Vancouver and features a wide variety of different visual artforms, whether its paintings, photography, design work, and sometimes even videos. I find that I’m always inspired when I visit this site. I think Jeff, the site’s creator and curator, and I have really similar tastes.
Tallest Man on Earth, the rasping Swedish folk singer-songwriter and one of the unsung heroes of 2008, recently recorded the beautiful song A Field of Birds, a nice adjunct to his summer album release, Shallow Grave. His sound is so loose and unmanicured, and carries a poignancy reminiscent of the rusty, early Bob Dylan.

Never ever, ever, ever, ever park here
Some friendly advice for the neighbours, who simply don’t get it, or street art? You decide which one it is.

A little infectious lollipop rock anyone? Feel free to embarrass yourself singing along at the stoplight. If the other drivers give you that look, roll down the windows and spread the love.

Inside this sea urchin shell is an organic perfume made from grapefruit and basil essential oils.
