Colour In Your Dress

The Colour-In Dress is a fantastic new fashion idea by Berber Soepboer (concept and design) and Michiel Schuurman (textile design). It certainly brings the girls among us back into those kindergarden days when “colouring in” was one of our favourite activities. Interactive fashion might well become a new trend, but not a cheap one. The Colour-In Dress is available for 238 euros — textile markers included.

Brilliant one line drawing series by Eemz

Eemz is an illustrator and mixed-media artist from Cairo. She has recently come up with a one line drawing series that I find quite adorable. Lots of her motifs look like minimalist doodling interpretations of characters from the Arabian Nights or the Pharaonic period. I would really love to see these turned into t shirt motifs or printed on postcards, so I can send them around to my friends. Read more

The closer we look, the more abstract the sculpture becomes. Read more

It must be in the jeans. The offspring of musical hedonists Richard and Linda Thompson, Teddy Thompson is one hell of a talented songwriter. Since his debut self-titled album came out in 2000, Thompson has been busy working on collaborative projects (including the ‘I’m Your Man’ tribute to Leonard Cohen) and solo recordings. His latest album, Up Front & Down Low, is a typically skittish and melodic collection of folk tinged melodrama. We spoke to him recently. Read more

Analog electronics by British outfit Belbury Poly (Jim Jupp and Eric Zann) make me believe machines have souls and the ghosts of obsolete recording devices are haunting the dusty stacks of libraries debating the relevance of 60s avant-garde music and counterculture.
