Cassandra Smith’s bedazzled taxidermy
A simple way to sum up Cassandra Smith’s artwork would be to describe it as ‘bedazzled taxidermy’. Further inspection of her work reveals careful precision, amazing attention to detail, and a whole new spin and respect for the decorative arts.
Cassandra Smith has managed to take unexpected items and put them together in a way that seems playful and perplexing — like your crazy grandmother who lives in the Midwest, and wears crazy costume jewelry to bingo night dinners at the local hunting lodge. In other words: amazing!

New video for When The Night Falls by Chromeo
It took a few viewings for me to fully come to terms with my feelings for When The Night Falls, but ultimately my love for P-Thugg in yellow was the final push that persuaded me. It was so random and so strange that I knew that I had to have it. Read more

Strip away the cookie monster vocals and downtuned, distorted guitars, it’s hard to imagine death metal still reading as death metal, but 8-bit duo Dr. Zilog manage to do just that. The Floridian sound-card tweakers make some pretty amazing original, NES tunes that are strangely compelling, catchy, and actually quite metal.
