As part of Brad Pitt’s Make It Right project in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans — the area infamously known for being catastrophically destroyed by Hurricane Katrina — architectural group, Morphosis designed The Float House in hopes to aid residents in coping with living in the flood-susceptible area. The Float House is green, cheap-ish ($150,000), and made from mostly pre-fabricated material. Above all the thing actually floats, like a boat, whenever it floods.
