The Perfect Cappuccino: quest for the ultimate cup
‘I have a problem’, admits filmmaker, Amy Ferraris. ‘I’m obsessed with the cappuccino’. And so Ferraris explains the motivation for her film — The Perfect Cappuccino — a 90-minute exploration of the history, science and popular explosion of the velvety coffee beverage.
Ferraris goes from Italy to America, from tiny roasteries to Starbucks stores in an attempt to find that perfect cup of joe, and — more importantly — to distill the secrets behind cappuccino perfection. In an analytical turn, the film also looks at how Starbucks has brought a mass-market version of the frothy beverage to new corners of American suburbia. Is this a good thing? Ferraris asks. Watch, and decide for yourself.

This film ROCKS! I was lucky enough to catch it at one of the screenings up north, and it’s just so much fun…not to mention a terrific primer on where to find the best coffee around the country. I’ve become addicted to my favorite spots in LA and feel like I can find great coffee almost anywhere I go now! Yum!
