Her beautiful voice, combined with her gentle acoustic songs, makes it an amazing album that any folk enthusiast can enjoy.

Mike Leavitt creates interactive sculptures of contemporary artists using polymer clay and mixed media, with hidden features built into some of the figures. We love his model of Lost At E Minor contributor Ron English, and his characterization of the ever mysterious Banksy. Read more

Argentinian illustrator Gustavo Aimar’s version of the Deluge is full of light and peace in it’s inherent simplicity and wondrous naivety. Generally speaking, the innocence and playfulness of childhood is never far from the core symbolic theme in Aimar’s works.

Sydney indie heroes (in the nicest possible way), The Paper Scissors (TPS to those that know the secret handshake) have made a video for their new single, The Bandit. And it’s good. Damn good.

If this image by designer Yanko Tsvetkov is how Americans see Europe, I wonder what a map of how Europeans see America would look like. Do most non-Americans have any concept of what Nebraska is like?

An amazing archive of brilliant photography and great write ups, and veering heavily towards motorcycle and gang culture photography, the creative whirlwind behind the Selvedge Yard blog groups together in his archive a collective spirit of musicians, artists, writers and rebel rousers that I find so inspiring and interesting. Dating or married musician duos are always interesting beasts. Their intertwining affections and chemical reactions make for a potent alchemy of musical magic. Along the same vein of O-era Damien Rice and Lisa Hennigan, Glen Hansard (frontman of The Frames) and Marketa Irglova are the latest lovey-dovey couple with longings expressed in fingerpicked guitars and mourning cellos.
