Steve Thomas’ arcade-game propaganda

Illustrator Steve Thomas has recently posted some great propaganda art based on classic video games. My favorite is the one he did for Frogger not only because it’s a really striking design, but also because Frogger wouldn’t be so obvious a choice to make propaganda art out of compared to a game like say Space Invaders.

Ice Invaders

The humble ice cube tray. You might not think that little block of plastic sitting in your freezer leaves much room for innovation, but think again. The designers over at Fred and Friends have been having a field day with it, dreaming up all sorts of funky variations to the traditional cube. Check out Ice Invaders — a tray that creates alien-shaped chunks of ice inspired by the classic video game. There’s also Brain Freeze, “the ice tray that makes four frosty brains.” If you’re feeling girly, freeze yourself some Cool Jewels to chill down your pink lemonade on a summer afternoon. That plain old rectangular ice cube? Forget it — this is a cubin’ revolution.

Now, we’ve all had a fan crush at some stage of our lives, but Parserisas, a 56-year-old newspaper vendor from Mexico, has taken it to a whole new level. He has turned his body into a shrine for Julia Roberts, with 82 tattoos of her in various scenes from her vast library of movies. Crazy? Yes. But what a way to do it! Read more

This awesome promo video for the Lost At E Minor site was created by our friends over at New York-based design studio, Lifelongfriendshipsociety. It’s all about looking into a black mirror and seeing the creative energy burst back out at you. We think it’s very cool and the first in what we hope will be a series of short videos exploring what it really means to be lost at e minor. Hit us up if you’d like to have a go at creating one.

Down with OCD? Well, well so are we! And, so is this guy, who was nice enough to share some found photos and post them on his Tumblr page.

TheStar69 track So What Is The News is the very personification of great pop. In fact, it takes bits and pieces of the best music the The Cult, Hall & Oates and The Steve Miller Band ever recorded and messes it up with a well-honed, Scottish sense of mischief. We like.

These antler pendants are hand-crafted, made in sterling silver, and brought to you by the talented kids at Fuzz Design. They are revolutionizing the way we view hunting and taxidermy: it just got a whole lot more fashionable! Why not wear a piece of reindeer around your neck this Christmas?
