I saw Laura Marling last night in Paris – and it was just as good as I’d hoped. Her last album is one of my favourite albums, and from what I heard last night, her new one is sure to earn its way into my personal hall of fame. The music is beautiful and infectious, but it is the lyrics that really stun me. Hooray for Laura!

I’ve always really liked the Doves, and am dying to hear their new album (to broke to buy it at the moment) but I’m most excited about the Laura Marling CD – her first album was fantastic (reminded me a little of Joni Mitchell, which is serious praise) and I’m dying to hear her new stuff.

So I live in Perth, which means that most of my musical education begins at Acca Dacca and ends somewhere around Kevin Bloody Wilson. What I’m saying is, I need help building a decent music collection. Jonsi would be a wonderful way to slip into a bath full of bubbles, especially if they originated from some form of alcoholic substance. Laura Marling could be handy in showing off my warm, feminine side, which would be perfect for setting up a night of hard drinking and dancing to the mighty Doves.

So why am I a subsrciber to Lost at E Minor..? It’s not because I am completely up to date with all things happening in the arts, music, fashion & design scene – infact, completely on the contrary. This is the one way i manage to keep in touch with my far cooler and more hip bohemian friends (who seem to have way more time to source all this stuff!)

Crazy excited to hear Jonsi’s GO. i went to a sigur ros’ gig in melbourne (’08) and it was the best musical experience in my life. I could still imagine and hear the concert in my head for months (hope that doesn’t make me sound crazy). Jonsi’s a genius and i hope he doesn’t come to oz just to play splendour!
