Way back in the ’90s, Eric Conveys and Emotion asked visitors to submit emotions for site owner Eric Wu to act out. Around the same time Wu’s website petered out, illustrator Adam Culbert, aka Sam Brown, launched explodingdog, a site on which people submit sentences for Culbert to illustrate in his hilariously crude style. This website hosts a nice collection of quirky, sometimes mind-boggling, sculptures from around the world. There’s a certain Dali-esque feel to a lot of them – those surreal, dreamy hallucinations turned into a warped reality. I’ve always been a sucker for art that really catches you out for a few seconds, and these certainly do that.
Fate is the record, Dr. Dog were destined to make a timeless yet contemporary distillation of the band’s open-armed, big-hearted sound. Inventive, magnificently realized, and absolutely irresistible, the Park The Van Records release sees the Philadelphia-based quintet filtering the gamut of American popular music into its own idiosyncratic brand of blue-eyed, dilated-pupil soul. As ever, Dr. Dog makes magic from an enduring pop palette of intricate harmonies, shape-shifting melodies, and ramshackle audio ingenuity all presented through their slightly skewed and utterly individualistic outlook.
Busy P is the man. This design pays homage to one of the world’s most enigmatic pop-culture mavericks. The French maestro is almost single-handedly responsible for the success of both Daft Punk and Justice. The Midas Touch design references this with the golden robot (representing Daft Punk) and the golden cross (representing Justice) — the idea being that everything Busy P touches turns to gold.

I so love this website it is amazing what people can do wonderfully but not me. I am lucky to have ever learned how to tie my shows. But a appreciate the innovative so that is a gift. Sites like this help us explore an entire world of images, sights and more.
