Yup, ‘Engineers at Raytheon-Sarcos in Salt Lake City demonstrated a unique set of tele-operated robotic arms attached to a modified Ditch Witch. With no training at all, one immediately meshes with the feelings and actions of the machine. It mirrored everything one does with their arms, wrists and shoulders’.
Dany Peschl’s photography leaves this aftertaste that makes you instantly like this guy whether you speak Slovac (like Peschl) or not. Art’s own universal sensual language? Thank goodness for that!
Snaiad is the the obsessive hobby of a designer going by the name of Nemo Ramjet. Ramjet has, over the course of several years, created an entire alien world with detailed maps, history, and a wonderfully illustrated array of creatures complete with an intricate catalogue and explanation of their morphology and evolution. This little Greenwich Village shop is a blast from the past for me. From 1985 to 1993, I lived in West London and have always missed British candy and special foods. Low and behold, Myers of Keswick has it all. Weetabix cereal, Quality Street candy, Scotch Eggs, PG Tips tea! It’s absolutely amazing. But it’s not all just imports, they make fresh food everyday that you wouldn’t find anywhere else.

How can you not love a band called ¡Apeshit!? Their name says it all. I got to catch these guys tour at a warehouse in Bed-Stuy the other night as they were capping off their most recent tour, and even though there were only 20 or so people in the audience by the time they went on, their set was absolutely epic, culminating in frontman Pat Berran being hoisted up and subsequently dropped by the drunken, sweaty, and heavily tattooed crowd. If you love fast, spastic, intensely brutal punk, this band will make you crap your pants.
