Blue Sunshine by Danish electronic duo Syntaks

The hypnotic video for Syntaks’ Blue Sunshine features fleeting glimpses of half-remembered imagery, both heavenly and apocalyptic, and vertiginous shifts in scale superimposed over its creators’ faces. The clip was directed by Syntaks’ own Jakob Skott and stars his musical collaborator and romantic partner, Anna Cecilia. Amon Tobin: ISAM Live (Extended Trailer)

Amon Tobin has been making forward thinking electronic music for over fifteen years. His latest effort, ISAM, which you can stream in its entirely, is unlike anything I’ve ever heard before. He’s bringing his album on tour with a stage show that matches the intensity of the album. As my friend Ryan said after the show, ‘that was important’.

Handmade fan video for Amon Tobin’s Lost And Found

Amon Tobin is the maestro of surreal electronic music. I always wanted to make a video for one of his songs, so when I had the chance to start this project, I was more than inspired. Instead of using computer generated effects, I did everything by hand. All the effects and images on this video were shot in studio.

New Banksy artwork angers the Catholic Church

Banksy has struck again, this time offending the Catholic Church with a bold artwork that critiques their stance on ongoing child abuse scandals. Banksy has taken a replica of a bust of an eighteenth century member of the Catholic hierarchy and added multi-coloured tiles to the face — pixelating it — as a comment on what he considers to be the Church’s cover-up. ‘I’m never sure who deserves to be put on a pedestal or crushed under one’, Banksy noted. And who are we to disagree? Read more

Tattoo artist sued by ex-girlfriend for obscene design

Oh boy, this is so bizarre it could only be true. Apparently a Dayton, Ohio, tattoo artist has been slapped with a $100,000 lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend for tattooing an image of, erm, excrement with flies on her back rather than the scene from Narnia that she had requested. The reason? He’d recently found out that she had been cheating on him with one of his buddies. Damn! And here we were thinking this was the hot new look for trailer park trash crowd.

I’ve never been much of a gamer, but I’ve always liked Tetris and other such puzzle games. Here’s a fun one called Spin, where you shoot different colored balls at a giant mass of other colored balls that pivots like a pinwheel.

Oh man, my eyeballs feel like they’re dropping out of my head. This clip is pyschedelic in a way that platform shoes and polyester shoes could never be. The Faint are the shizz, and that’s the truth.

Wow, they are getting into some crazy things in Poland! The aptly named PMS Collective have positioned a series of ‘‘friendly blow-up dolls‘ for those Polish drivers, and cyclists, who just can’t wait until they get home. Sander Reijgers, where are you when we need you! Read more

Wolf and Cub are back with a brand new single and after listening to it, I feel like I should be out in the streets, warning my neighbours of the apocalypse. The song is huge, forceful, damming and painfully exciting. Joel Byrne’s half-drawl, half-howl proclaims the end, while (in true Wolf and Cub) the drums are epic and unsettling. And then, that moment, the bass against the fading echoes. My heart broke and my brain exploded. It’s too much to take. This band will be the death of me.

Doctor Who TARDIS zipper robe

Nerd-attack! Man, this TARDIS zipper robe is so much cooler than any Star Wars crap people are hawking this days. This is for the true gangsta nerd.

In 2008, graphic designer Becky Edgington and illustrator Sarah Beetson created two limited-edition packs of playing cards featuring images from Beetson’s exhibition, 50 Bucks: Bring On The Sluts. The images were selected from almost 500 small artworks created on moleskine paper, inspired by vintage pornography and a trip to Japan. Read more
