John D-C is a Sydney-based graphic artist, print maker and toy customizer. His exhibition, Haunted House Rock, showing between November 19 and December 14 at Sweets Workshop Shop in Summer Hill, is a hideously, abominable creation, monstrously mashing two of the artist’s favorite subjects: The Monsters of Popular Culture and The Golden Age of Rock and Roll. How old must Kermit be now? Not to old to collaborate with skater-friendly retailer Supreme and photographer Terry Richardson. Kermit, who usually wears nothing, has been hooked up with some new threads to advertise the brand. It seems Kermit and Terry are the perfect work partners: they’ve even released a video clip documenting the shoot.
Instead of demolishing the old Paddington Reservoir, architects TZG have incorporated into the design a new outdoor public garden in Paddington, Sydney. The results are stunning, with the nineteenth century structures providing an amazing starting point. Looking less like a garden and more like an overgrown ancient city, with the remnants of historic walls and vaults, this new public space is well worth frequent visits.
