More boy band cartoons? Oh boy, indeed
by First there was the Beatles cartoon series, now there’s this. Boy band, juvenile hysteria, eruptive hormones like a volcano in spring time. If we talk about tearing magazines and designing collages in folders and wardrobes, we talk about the fanaticism and crying of a young female fan. New Kids On The Block were one of the forerunners of this manufactured phenomenon.
Five teenagers with personalities who covered all the possible areas of the market: Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Word, and the brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight. These kids from Boston conquered the stages, the charts and the wallets. In contrast, this 2D animation did not work out, almost emulating a similar aesthetic to the real band, but without any success. These performers bit the dust in terms of animation.

Its main intention is to hide and keep ringing untl you wake up. This tinny alarm clock has two all-terrain wheels that can endure all surfaces.
Only in Japan? Perhaps. The Japanese Bug Fights website promotes real bug fights, with combatants such as scorpions, spiders, mantis and giant beetles. The rules are simple: only two bugs must be engaged in the fight. External weapons are not allowed and the fight lasts till one of opponents dies. Hmmm. Read more

Who says the Swedes have got a monopoly on seasonal ice hotels? This one in Kemi, northern Finland, is the world’s largest snow castle, standing seventeen metres high and with walls that are 1,100 metres long. It has restaurants, an art gallery, a hotel and a chapel. In fact, since opening in the early 1990s, it’s been quite a hit for tourists to get married at the snow chapel. The Los Angeles musician, Ariana Delawari — aka Lion of Panjshir — is half Afghan and half Sicilian and makes wonderfully enlightened weirdo folk rock. I hope she takes that as a compliment! Her music is delicate and powerful and she is a pure artist. Everything she does has that magic light in it. She made her new album partially in Afghanistan, and many of the lyrics deal with the continued oppression of people’s liberties by the Taliban.
