The TV Show animation by Sugimito Kousuke
This animated video by Sugimito Kousuke, with awesome 8-bit tunage by Takayuki Manabe, features a series of weird narratives that play out like Russian nested dolls, with each layer peeling back until the whole thing collides into a big Technocolor finale.

Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared animation
I’ve been a fan of This Is It Collective’s work since I saw their first video, Bad Things That Could Happen. This Is It is a collective of illustrators, animators, artists and designers based in London and they produce colourful, well-designed animations and videos. This one in particular made me snigger with joy.
From outside of Wellington comes a very young bedroom producer who makes his own magical brand of sexy Italo disco while also creating his own album art and animating his own music videos. He will often sing female-style backup vocals in falsetto and shred hair metal guitar solos over his beats. The majority of New Zealanders were still unaware when he took off to Paris while still a teenager and began making waves in Europe.

The crew at Twin Cat Vintage have extended their range of clothing from vintage clothing to new designs inspired by the past. Given they’re limited edition, they still have the feeling of ‘one-of a kind’ that vintage offers.
These charming Danish rocking-sheep make me want to be a kid again, or that the creators at Whippet Grey would make them in adult size. Made out of pinewood, rubber foam and real sheepskin, in a very traditional rocking horse manner; accept for of course the fact that they are not horses.

Austin band The Low Lows are one of my most prized finds of the year so far. It’s introspective music — staggered harmonies delivered by a distant, agonised voice that filters through a wall of tranquil guitar distortion and measured drumming. Every instrument carries a powerful emotion, sometimes keeping their distance from one another, floating up and around the airwaves, and other times colliding and crashing back to earth.
