We’re pleased to welcome the legendary pop culture artist and father of the Agit Pop Movement Ron English as a contributor to Lost At E Minor, writing about his favorite creative and cultural discoveries of recent times. English has just completed a successful showing of new works called Lazarus Rising at the Elms Lesters Painting Rooms, in which he paid homage to Picasso’s 1937 masterpiece, Guernica, transcribing it to reflect our troubled times alongside an extraordinary body of new works. Previous Guest Editor of Lost At E Minor, Shepard Fairey, and Jennifer Gross have a fantastic new book out through Abrams entitled, Art For Obama. Featuring artwork from more than a hundred International artists, including fellow Lost At E Minor Guest Editor Ron English [illustration above], Lukas Ketner, Kwaku Alston, Maya Hayuk, and Lisa Anne Auerbach, many of the works were created before the election to raise money for the Obama campaign. Pieces range from fashion to installation, and most refer back to Obama’s likeness. This will be a great book to look back on many years from now. And it’s a guilt free purchase, as all of the authors’ proceeds will be donated to Americans for the Arts charity. Read more

Knuckleheads is a pretty fun little side scrolling game where you’re a pair of Mexican-wrestler-looking things attached to each other by a chain. You swing each other around to move and hit floaty capsule things for points, and you can change the length of the chain to get over various obstacles, but watch out for the bats.
How can you not love a band called ¡Apeshit!? Their name says it all. I got to catch these guys tour at a warehouse in Bed-Stuy the other night as they were capping off their most recent tour, and even though there were only 20 or so people in the audience by the time they went on, their set was absolutely epic, culminating in frontman Pat Berran being hoisted up and subsequently dropped by the drunken, sweaty, and heavily tattooed crowd. If you love fast, spastic, intensely brutal punk, this band will make you crap your pants.
Beautiful Kaos is a small boutique Sydney-based label, created by Paulo Brito. His collection is launching this Summer, with a range of boardies, singlets, tees and jackets. The entire range epitomizes Summer fun, my favourite time of year.
