|I found this great animated short by Royal College of Art graduate John Kelly on zefrank.com. It has a great retro quality about it, like weird little cartoons I used to see as a kid on PBS. It’s also infuriatingly true to life.

Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared animation
I’ve been a fan of This Is It Collective’s work since I saw their first video, Bad Things That Could Happen. This Is It is a collective of illustrators, animators, artists and designers based in London and they produce colourful, well-designed animations and videos. This one in particular made me snigger with joy.
From outside of Wellington comes a very young bedroom producer who makes his own magical brand of sexy Italo disco while also creating his own album art and animating his own music videos. He will often sing female-style backup vocals in falsetto and shred hair metal guitar solos over his beats. The majority of New Zealanders were still unaware when he took off to Paris while still a teenager and began making waves in Europe.

Graffiti artist Swamdonkey has had quite a summer. Check out the documentation of his exploits — train-hopping, hanging with cute crusties, swimming, and jumping on trampolines.
This clip had such an impact on me when it first came out, back in the day. This is an amazing international contemporary art website. It’s kinda like a long list of images and videos that’s updated daily.
TheStar69 track So What Is The News is the very personification of great pop. In fact, it takes bits and pieces of the best music the The Cult, Hall & Oates and The Steve Miller Band ever recorded and messes it up with a well-honed, Scottish sense of mischief. We like.
I don’t know if it’s the name, the relaxed look, or the attitude that just don’t sit too well with authority, but something about New York based label Sophomore has got us reminiscing about the good old days. Their current collection has boys and girls getting back-to-basics. Think jersey sweats and loose tees, mixed with yoke necks, caplet sleeves and tapered waists. And you know what that means? The search for the perfect white tee and the ultimate summer singlet is over. Italian brand Brionvega has resurrected the classy Radiofonografio piece first created in 1965. The updated version is just like the original turntable/radio unit, but also has a CD/DVD player.
