Stars Wars architecture
I don’t know about you, but when I make my first billion dollars, I’m going to have George Lucas design me a spaceship and take my closest eight friends for a joy flight to Dantooine. Errr, any takers? C’mon!

Star Wars characters as fashion icons
Perhaps George Lucas got it wrong when he dressed his Star Wars figures in menacingly futuristic outfits from another world. Based on these drawings depicting characters in stylish outfits, he could easily have stuck much closer to home. Read more

Sarlac Pit inspired laundry hamper
I suck at ‘laundry basketball,’ I always miss. Good thing French designer Pierre Vedel has created this simple cardboard backboard, inspired by the sarlacc pit in Star Wars, that you can build yourself out of cardboard.

How the Internet’s biggest sites looked at launch
How the times have changed! Check out these awesome screenshots of how some of our favourite websites looked at the very moment they launched back in the day, then be grateful for the savvy workings of digital designers. Hire a professional dumper to end your relationship
Marketing executive Jonathan Kiekbush has a pretty interesting night job: he breaks up people’s relationships. That’s right, for a small set fee (£5 plus expenses), he’s a professional dumper. Trivial fact: most of his clients are men. Not surprisingly, as our friends at Oddity Central have noted, he’s single himself.

Dantooine was turned into glass during the Clone Wars. Sorry bud, but if you want great architechture, go to Mannan. Its a great swim resort too. Look out for Korriban and the Star Forge!
HAVE YOUR SAY
One of our favourite illustrators, the New York-based Christopher Neal, just happens to share a studio space with Sam Weber. Oh man! To be a extra large fly on that wall. It would be so tempting to attach a canvas to your back and just buzz on out of there! Read more

The philosophy of a beginning is to me, a wonderful concept. I really enjoy flicking through the back catalogues of a musician and discovering their origin, then tracing their musical journey to the present. So for American-born, Paris-based sister duo CocoRosie, who released their third album The Adventure of Ghosthouse and Stillborn to much acclaim, making the trip to their beginnings is more than worth the journey: their debut album, Le Maison de Mon Reve (released back in 2004) was a gentle stroll through their pop and classical influences, which melt together seamlessly into a backdrop for their unique and enchanting voices.
The American South’s hippest city — Austin, Texas — got a little bit cooler last year with the opening of Uchiko, a contemporary Japanese restaurant that serves up innovative and sustainable food in a warm farmhouse setting. Read more

Though most people in the West think of mahjong as a mysterious game old Chinese people play, it’s actually gets quite rowdy when people get together to play it. Rowdy is certainly a good adjective for Mahjongg, the exquisitely danceable electro-whatever outfit from Chicago who draw as much from Afrobeat as they do vocoder-laden sleaze rock from the 70s.

Made from 100 percent organic cotton and eco-friendly, this super soft tee celebrates a sinister world of kaleidoscopic colours and ripples of psychedelia, of serenading Queens, of dancing flamingos, of unimaginable euphoria. It’s all the work of Sydney label, Das Monk and it’s available through the Lost At E Minor online store for just US$40. Now, there’s one hell of a Christmas present, even if we do say so ourselves!

Why dantooine of all intergalactic places?
surely a bush party on endor
or a weekend binge in coruscant would be more fitting
