Silvery space suits take me to the moon
Ok, so I’m thinking of leaving the blogosphere and becoming an astronaut. That’s right, a space explorer, going where no sane man has dared to tread, equipped only with a biro pen, a copy of some random Marxist literature, and my space suit. Ah, yes, my space suit. Bulked up and all silvery, I’ll make quite an impression on our alien friends. Damn those things look cool.

Crimea X is the coming together of two offbeat, disparate characters, DJ Rocca (Ajello, Super Sonic Lovers, Maffia Sound System) and Jukka Reverberi from 90s Italian glam cult rockers, Giardini di Mirò, who have often have been compared with the sound of Mogwai, Arab Strap, and Godspeed You! Anyone who thinks black metal is too rigid and narrow a genre to have room for innovation would do well to check out Lifelover, a Swedish band that defies every convention of black metal while still remaining miraculously kvlt. The sextet wafts between languid, hallucinatory grooves that channel Iggy Pop and latter-day Cure to unhinged freak-outs that sound as if they’re emanating from the deepest, coldest forests of Norway.
