Bus shelter ad comes equipped with real heaters
It always amazes me how much outdoor advertising is uninspiring, flat, and unmemorable, when all you need to kickstart a campaign, and conversation, is a great idea, an element of interaction, and superb execution. Simple, really. This Minneapolis bus shelter, by ad agency Colle + McVoy, promotes Caribou Coffee’s new hot breakfast sandwiches in a way that is both eye-catching and memorable. Heck, it even comes ‘equipped with real heaters to keep the waiting commuters warm in this cold weather’.
This vexed panda is a deathwish who vehemently appears in Panda Cheese commercials when consumers dare not to try, buy, or use his product. Although he’s becoming quite an amusing hit in cyberspace, I strongly suggest you steer clear of this bear. His adorable blinking eyes won’t stop him from turning off your life support.

Banksy has struck again, this time offending the Catholic Church with a bold artwork that critiques their stance on ongoing child abuse scandals. Banksy has taken a replica of a bust of an eighteenth century member of the Catholic hierarchy and added multi-coloured tiles to the face — pixelating it — as a comment on what he considers to be the Church’s cover-up. ‘I’m never sure who deserves to be put on a pedestal or crushed under one’, Banksy noted. Tattoo artist sued by ex-girlfriend for obscene design
Oh boy, this is so bizarre it could only be true. Apparently a Dayton, Ohio, tattoo artist has been slapped with a $100,000 lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend for tattooing an image of, erm, excrement with flies on her back rather than the scene from Narnia that she had requested. The reason? He’d recently found out that she had been cheating on him with one of his buddies. Damn! And here we were thinking this was the hot new look for trailer park trash crowd.

Arkansas illustrator Edward Kinsella certainly has a way with a brush and paint. The work on his website is nothing short of gorgeous, in all its muted painterly glory.

This website hosts a nice collection of quirky, sometimes mind-boggling, sculptures from around the world. There’s a certain Dali-esque feel to a lot of them – those surreal, dreamy hallucinations turned into a warped reality. I’ve always been a sucker for art that really catches you out for a few seconds, and these certainly do that.
Oh man, close your eyes if you will and transport yourself to a place far, far away; where disco is in, polyester is up, and everyone bows long and deep to the gravitational pull of the almighty afro. Sister Self-Doubt by The Shakes takes me there. It takes me front and centre, feeling that slippery, incidenary groove as it crunches my spine and works its way to my feet. Hmmm, the feet. It’s always in the feet. And now I’m dancing and twisting, onwards and upwards, like a manic spinning top thinking nothing of today and even less of tomorrow.
